FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

+

Bring a bathing suit or clothing that will keep you comfortable in the water and on the boat. Also, bring a spare towel so that you can stay dry between rides and when you are done, as well as a spare change of clothes for when you are back on dry land. As it can be very warm at the lake and the sun can be amplified when reflected off the water, we recommend that you bring items such as a hat and sunscreen. Also, a pair of waterproof shoes or sandals will be useful when entering or exiting the boat.

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?

+

We suggest arriving 15 minutes before your reservation time to avoid any delays in your booking. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund any lost time due to last minute changes, so please, plan your travel accordingly so you can spend every second of your time having fun out on the water.

WHAT HAPPENS IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER?

+

Due to the unpredictability of Arenal’s climate during a few months of the year, we sometimes experience heavy rains and elements that could impact your enjoyment. We monitor this very closely, but many of Costa Rica's weather information apps can show contradicting reports. If the weather does not permit a good session on the lake, we refund all bookings and offer another available period.

HOW CAN I BOOK?

+

We are currently building our booking platform, so all reservations can be made via WhatsApp, where you can choose a list of activities and options available. If there is something that you forgot or would like to change prior to your arrival, please contact us on WhatsApp or email, so we can make any changes accordingly.

WHERE ARE THE BEST PLACES TO STAY NEARBY?

+

The entrance to the lake is closest to the small, picturesque town of El Castillo, which is less than 5 minutes from our location, and reachable with a short stroll. There are plenty of accommodation options with great facilities, amazing views of the lake and the volcano, and fantastic places to eat. With its small town ambience and cozy dwellings, El Castillo has become a popular attraction to those visiting the lake or exploring some of the surrounding trails and hotsprings. Many more extreme activities can be found in the surrounding area, another reason why this area has become one of Costa Rica’s most visited provinces. Alternatively, La Fortuna is our closest major town with many activities, places to stay and restaurants. It is 35 minutes away and easily reachable by car or taxi.

WHAT DOES MY BOOKING INCLUDE?

+

Depending on how much time you will spend with us, we will cater to all your desired meals, snacks and drinks. If you have something particular that you feel would make your experience better, don't hesitate to ask us and we will do our best to make sure that these items join you on the boat. On the boat, you will find a place to keep your belongings dry and safe throughout the experience. However, we can not guarantee the safety of delicate items, as they may move around during the ride. Protective equipment is also mandatory while on the boat, such as life jackets and other floatation devices; but if you wish to bring a helmet for your waterproof camera or GoPro, you are most welcome. We have cutting edge boards and equipment also at your disposal, but if you wish to bring your own, there are racks on the boat for their safe storage.

WHAT LANGUAGES DO YOU SPEAK?

+

Our staff are multilingual, so if you have a preference in language, just let us know when making your booking. English, Spanish, Hebrew, Dutch and German are all possible.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO GET THERE?

+

There is no public transport to Lake Arenal, but finding a taxi or Uber from La Fortuna is very easy and can be booked ahead of time. If you need us to plan transportation for you, please mention it in the booking or contact us on WhatsApp; we can arrange a ride to pick you up from your accommodation. Take note of where we are located when you book to make sure you don’t get lost whilst traveling to the lake.

WHAT IS OUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

+

When it comes to making your personalized booking, please be mindful of the date and time that you would like your session with us. Cancellations of bookings within a 72 hour period are not refundable; however, it is possible to move them to another day if something unexpected has arisen. Any bookings canceled outside the 72 hour period are refundable at 50% of the booking cost; so please, be very careful when reserving. The moment you know you will be unable to attend at your time slot, just contact us so we can accommodate any changes in your reservation.

HOW DIFFICULT ARE THE WATERSPORTS ACTIVITES?

+

Difficulty varies per person and activity, and whether you have any experience in watersports or board sports may influence the amount of time it takes to learn. However, most of these activities can be learnt within a day, with expert guidance, so you can start looking like a pro in no time.

WILL IT COST EXTRA FOR PEOPLE NOT PARTICIPATING?

+

No. The boat is booked for the time that you will spend in the water or enjoying your activity. If you wish to bring some friends or family that are not interested in practicing watersports, they are welcome to sit on the boat, watch and take photos and videos.
