Do you remember when it was just you and your partner, and vacations were a way to relax, take stock, and reflect? Well, having a family has kind of changed that hasn't it?

As a parent, you always have a responsibility when it comes to your family. Not only do you need to be on constant alert to ensure that they’re safe, but you need to make sure the vacation is as good for them as it is for you.

You can still relax while you’re on vacation, don’t get us wrong. But it gets kind of difficult when your kids are pleading for something to do! You need a way to appease both what you want in a vacation, and what your kids want as well. And that starts with the perfect location.

Having said that, the activities we have here are great. At Lake Arenal, for instance, you can take one of our boat rentals and try out several different watersports, including wakeboarding or tubing.

In Puntarenas Province, you can take the kids horseback riding along the beachfront, or you can visit the wild and wonderful monkey farm in Guanacaste. There are so many things to do and so many ways to keep your kids entertained, while also providing new, exciting experiences for you too.

Opportunities To Learn New Skills

Speaking of activities, there are so many activities that your kids might not have had the chance to try out at home. Surfing, for instance, is a popular pastime for families in Costa Rica. You could introduce your kids to waterskiing. Snorkelling or scuba diving can also be a great idea, especially if your kids have a love of wildlife. As we mentioned, vacations can be stressful for families who have to keep a constant eye on their kids. But you’ll be happy to know that Costa Rica ranks as one of the safest countries in Latin America, making it a great destination for family holidays. As with any vacation, you’ll need to remain vigilant, as no area is without crime or dangerous environments, but Costa Rica certainly offers more opportunities to relax for the parents.

We think it’s also important that, when you go on vacation, you teach your kids about the world they live in.
